Vision

The Minority Health & Research Center (MHRC) is a comprehensive educational, research and service center focused on eliminating the health disparities of racial/ethnic minorities locally, regionally and nationally.

Theme

Building trust, sharing power and eliminating racial bias and discrimination.

Mission

To foster partnerships with UAB schools and centers, historically black colleges and universities, state agencies and grassroots organizations with an ultimate goal of eliminating health disparities experienced by minorities compared to whites. The MHRC will also foster collaboration with existing and future academic programs in order to stimulate new interdisciplinary research proposals and will assist, train and support investigators to compete effectively for external funding in minority health research.
