Manuscript Writing Retreat
The MHRC plans and sponsors a two-day manuscript writing retreat to encourage young investigators to write their manuscripts for submission and publication.
The investigators spend a full Thursday and Friday away from the office and everyday interactions and distractions, in order to have a solid block of time to write. They bring their laptops and reference materials to the resort, where writing stations have been created for them in a peaceful, serene lake setting at Twin Pines/ Copper Mountain Lodge Resort.
This idea has received enthusiastic and positive feedback from the junior investigators. Results from the first retreat include:
- Diabetes disparities paper under development.
- Outcomes of National Faculty Development - submitted to Annals, rejected, re-submitted and under revision at JGIM.
