MHRC has developed strong ties through academic, research and community outreach programs with several entities in the State of Alabama and nationwide.

Research Partnerships

The Minority Institution/Cancer Center Partnership (MI/CCP) program of the Comprehensive Minority Biomedical Branch (CMBB), National Cancer Institute (NCI), is designed to support collaborations between Minority Serving Institutions and NCI-designated Cancer Centers. More >

Academic Partnerships

Leaders from these institutions integrate the MHRC Academic Advisory Council which provides advisory role to the Training component of the Center helping in partnerships for the development of academic programs targeting minority students and faculty. More >

Community Outreach Partnerships

The MHRC has been instrumental in the establishment of this unique collaborative effort involving the UAB Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professions, Medicine, Nursing, Optometry, and Public Health; UAB University-Wide Centers: Health Promotion, Minority Health and Research, Vision Science Research; the EyeSight Foundation of Alabama, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
